Guide: Measuring Electric Underfloor Heating

Follow these steps to correctly measure your electric underfloor heating using a multimeter:

Requirements

• Multimeter
• Electric underfloor heating (not yet connected to the thermostat or power supply)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Check the connection

Make sure that the cables of the underfloor heating mat are not connected to the power supply or thermostat.

Step 2: Set up the multimeter

• Set the multimeter to the lowest OHM range (often 200 OHM-setting (Ω)).

Step 3: Make the connection

• Connect the cables of the multimeter to the following wires of the underfloor heating mat:
  • Brown wire
  • Blue wire

Step 4: Record the value

• Read the resistance displayed on the multimeter and record this value.

Important Notes

1. The measured value must match the specifications provided in the manual of your underfloor heating system.
2. Caution: If you measure 0 (zero), there is an issue. In that case, please contact us immediately!
3. A deviating value may also indicate a problem with the cables.
